Lyndel King is director and chief curator of the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota. She has a Ph.D. in art history and over 25 years museum experience. She has an undergraduate degree in microbiology and has worked as a chemist and virology researcher. Prior to her work at the University she worked as director of Exhibitions and Museum Programs for Control Data Corporation and as an exhibition coordinator at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. King is a member of the American Association of Museum Directors, a graduate of the Museum Management Institute, and currently serves on the board of trustees of the American Federation of Art. King serves as a museum accreditor for the American association of Museums. She has published a book on Victorian art. King has held the position of director of graduate studies for the University's museology program and teaches museum studies courses annually and courses in Victorian art periodically.
