This option provides a quick overview of all 54 cartoons in their chronological order of appearance. Each Directory entry includes a thumbnail image of the cartoon, together with its original caption and date of publication. Clicking directly on any thumbnail will take the visitor to a large version of the cartoon, along with extended commentary and background information.
This list of selected Civil War campaigns, battles, and events allows the visitor to trace the history of the War through links to related cartoons, and to locate cartoons that reflect or comment upon specific incidents.
From any of the full page cartoon reproductions with commentary, the visitor can use directional arrows to move forward (or backward) to the next (or previous) cartoon in their chronological order of publication.
